Once again, the time for San Roque has arrived. LONG LIVE SAINT ROCH! Our festivities will always live on as long as we continue to feel proud to be people of Calatayud and remain true to our traditions.
"With celebration, wine and love, may these happy festivities endure; and whoever tries to politicise them, headfirst into the River Jalón."
Those words stayed with me from my very first years as a crew member, and I have never forgotten them.
To the people of Calatayud, our visitors and all my fellow crew members, let us enjoy these days together in a spirit of friendship and happiness, so that they leave us with strength and wonderful memories to carry throughout the rest of the year.
Every year, one person is named Peñista del Año, but in truth, we all are.
