1994 - a year that I shall always remember as one that filled my life with joy, satisfaction and pride. It was the year in which I was first nominated and then chosen as Peñista del Año.
From an early age, I devoted part of my time to San Roque and, of course, to my beloved Euqor Crew, working alongside many other crew members to ensure that our festivities grew better and better with each passing year. Everything this has required—effort, sacrifice and, during part of the year, almost complete dedication—has been more than rewarded by the immense satisfaction, and humble pride, that I feel in being your Peñista del Año this year.
Through these words, I would like to thank all those crew members who made my selection possible. I consider this appointment a tremendous honour, and I assure you that I will do everything I can to prove worthy of it. At the same time, I invite every member of this great family of crews to jump, dance and enjoy the festivities to the fullest, always in a spirit of friendship, respect and shared happiness, helping to make our celebrations even greater.
Throughout the festivities, I shall raise—and continue to raise—my glass in celebration of all that San Roque represents.
