Forty years have passed since I first wore the blue and white colours of my beloved Euqor Crew.
Over those years I have experienced moments of joy, good times and more difficult ones. I have travelled countless miles to make sure I was back in time for the Chupinazo that marks the beginning of the San Roque Festivities. All of these experiences have brought me immense satisfaction, but none of them can compare with the happiness I felt this year when I learned that I had been chosen as Peñista del Año.
For that reason, I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to all my fellow crew members, while also encouraging them to join me in celebrating festivities filled with friendship, joy and exemplary civic spirit.
My fellow crew members, let us make these festivities—the last of the twentieth century—truly unforgettable. Let us enjoy every moment to the fullest while showing the utmost respect for those around us. In doing so, we will demonstrate to the many visitors who join us, as well as to our fellow citizens, that we, the crew members of Calatayud, know how to celebrate to the fullest while also respecting everyone, including those who, for whatever reason, choose not to belong to a crew.
