To all Crew Members,
Putting into words what I felt when I was chosen to represent you during the 2010 San Roque Festivities is extremely difficult. It was a mixture of joy, pride and gratitude.
I would like to thank all the members, the presidents of the crews and the volunteers of the Inter-Crew Federation who chose me for this honour.
This unforgettable year for me, as Peñista del Año 2010, is made even more special because my beloved Unión Crew—the crew in which I grew up as a crew member—is celebrating its 50th anniversary. I would therefore like to be the first to congratulate all its members and friends.
I would also like to thank everyone who works and collaborates, day after day and year after year, in one way or another, to make these festivities possible. And my congratulations go especially to all of you, the crew members, who make the San Roque Festivities—our San Roque Festivities—the unique celebration that they are.
On 13 August, from the balcony of the Town Hall, every one of you will be lighting that ceremonial rocket alongside me, the one that will fill us with joy and happiness and officially mark the beginning of San Roque 2010.
I hope to live up to the privilege you have bestowed upon me, and I wish you all a wonderful celebration.
