Dear Crew Members,
Without a doubt, San Roque 2017 will be the most important celebration I have experienced so far, because this year I will have to leave my beloved white Nogara shirt in the wardrobe and proudly wear the multicolored shirt, representing the colors of every crew, which will identify me as Peñista del Año.
It is difficult to express my feelings in just a few lines, but above all there is one sentiment that stands above the rest: gratitude. My sincere thanks go to the board of directors of my crew for nominating me for this distinction, and to the presidents of every crew for placing their trust in me. Above all, I would also like to thank everyone for the countless expressions of affection and support I have received over the past few days. They make me feel even happier and prouder to represent all the crew members from every San Roque crew.
On a more personal note, I would like to dedicate this recognition to my family—to Ana and Alba, to my parents, and especially to my mother, who first took me by the hand as a child to Peña Desbarajuste and instilled in me the spirit of the San Roque festivities. I also dedicate it to my friends, those who are always there whenever you need them, and to everyone with whom I have had the privilege of serving on the different boards of directors of my crew throughout all these years.
Finally, I wish you all a wonderful San Roque. Enjoy the festivities to the fullest, and may 2017 become an unforgettable year for everyone.
